Several of my friends and neighbours have committed suicide over the past few years, and I suppose this would be said to be the norm as suicide rates in farming are double the average.
This statistic usually shocks people as they think of farming as a rewarding job in the fresh air.
However, from what I can see of it these days it is an indoor battle against politics of one sort or another.
If the powers that be aren't setting up a way of "farming the green pound" they are ending all setaside.
If they aren't manipulating imports they are letting out the Foot and Mouth virus from their own research establishment!
Most farmers I know feel like criminals before they've put their wellies on for the day!
So what can we do?
